Kimberly Guilfoyle first speaks with Tito
Lacle
Kimberly Guilfoyle says The
identity of the new suspect is Guido Wever, this has not been seen on any other
program. He stands accused in the murder, heavy battery and kidnapping of
Natalee Holloway. Tito Lacle joins the show from Aruba and Kimberly asks if
Joran knows Guido. Apparently Joran does know Guido. In the beginning it was
suggested that he might want to leave the island because his father is
political. In order to avoid embarrassment he asked his son to go to the
Netherlands. Joran was known to have played tennis with Guido around 4:30 that
day Natalee disappeared. Joran had used him as an alibi, then
went to the casinos and that is the extent of the connection that day. Kimberly
asked if they were considered to be close friends, just acquaintances or
someone that would go out on the limb for Joran. Tito said the fact that they
had used each other for alibis means they were friends compared to the others
that have been arrested, these two knew each other,
played tennis - perhaps could be a crucial person. Tito says the fact that his
father asked him to leave makes him suspicious even though he says nothing
happened. However now he is arrested. Kimberly wants to know why it has taken
so long if they knew about him right away. Kimberly also wanted to know if he
worked at the Holiday Inn casino. Tito said that he has been questioned,
interviewed as a witness and a person of interest. He was one of many on the
list, he however may be more connected than others but he is just another
person on the list. Is this a different charge than GVC heavy battery and
murder? Tito says the lawyer is very high profile and the charges are very
serious.
Joe Tacopina joins
Kimberly.
Kimberly wants to know what Joe has heard about this kid
and how he had been an alibi for Joran. Joe says "why would Joran need an
alibi 24 hours later, and really questions this word alibi. Kimberly says he
needed an alibi because he was the last person seen with Natalee. Joe says he
does not need an alibi for the next afternoon. Kimberly responds that if there
is a disposal of her he might. Joe comes back with "Let's not drink the
koolade that quickly," we have been down this road before, being excited
about an arrest. This kid is not new to the ALE so we all have to take a step
back. They had all of this information long ago. He was with Joran a day or two
after the 30th in the afternoon at the casino with a lot of other people. There
were 4 or 5 people with him and that does not make him and alibi witness.
Joran's whereabouts do not depend on this one individual. Kimberly asks Joe to
be fair that police have made suggestions that there could have been a disposal
of the body the following day. With cleaning up a crime it would be Joran
saying that he has nothing to hide, I was playing tennis, I
was not disposing of any body. If this guy Guido, Kimberly says had markings
and scratches on his body then he is the guy they should be going after. Joe
says you may be right, but I do not like rank speculation and I am so sick of
it in this case. Joran and Guido being best friends, that is none sense. Of all
the other arrests Kimberly says this is the guy that was with him the next day?
Joe says to not forget that this information that she is so excited about is
old news to the police in Aruba. Kimberly wants to know if it took them this
long to arrest him because he skipped the island. And Joe responds to that by
saying he does not know why it took them almost a whole year to put
out a composite sketch of someone that allegedly assaulted
a girl on the beach. But Joe says that they do not always do things in the prosecutors office for a good reason.
Beth Twitty joins
Kimberly
Kimberly says to Beth that she is more encouraged today
than she was last night because they are calling him a suspect in a murder.
Beth responds by saying that she is encouraged that there were witnesses that
brought about this arrest. She reminded everyone of the $250,000 reward for
information. Hopefully that will spark other witnesses that have information to
bring on a solution for what these suspects did to Natalee. Beth feels this new
suspect is an accomplice to this and an accessory to this and this is widening
the circle. Kimberly asks if Beth's opinion stands firm on Joran and the
Kalpoes as being the primary suspects. Beth says the reason why Joran speaks so
well for himself is that he told the family of how he dropped Natalee of that
night at the Holiday Inn. He was very insistent and took the family and showed
what he did with her and thus is showing by his actions all the details that
something is wrong and that everyone can see that. Kimberly asked Beth if she
was aware of this person. Beth said that early on she did not know about him.
She said there was a person of interest that was discussed on the island but he
was a casino dealer at the Excelsior casino. Kimberly said that his attorney
confirmed that he did work at the casino and was working the night Natalee
disappeared. Kimberly asked Beth how important it was that this guy knows
Joran. Beth said that she is encouraged by that but more encouraged by the
witnesses that have brought forth this arrest. She says that really encourages
her. Kimberly asked Beth if he could be the prime suspect, knowing that he had
seen Natalee, and had scratches and also left the island. Beth responded that
she had not been able to confirm the injuries so she did not know about that.
Beth said that she had gotten a call from someone with a son attending the
International School and that person had noted on the 3rd day that Joran had
bruises and scratches on him so Beth wonders if they are getting them confused.
Kimberly concludes by reminding everyone that there is still a $250,000 reward
so everyone should try to do the right thing.
Joe responds to
Beth
From the panel - Joe Tacopina responds to Beth --- Joe
says he feels for her but for the life of him he cannot understand why it is
almost like a tic starts as she repeats Joran's name. To him it is almost like
she would be distraught and devastated if this case were
solved and Joran were not part of it. She is so emotionally invested in Joran.
He says that Joran did not have any bruises or scratches on him. He feels badly
for Beth but he did not have bruises. Nobody has ever said that he did and even
she saw him in the first few hours and she didn't say that. It is wrong to
suggest that. All of this information the police have
had since June when they questioned him
